First prize winner at the 15th Géza Anda Competition in Zürich, Switzerland in 2021, rising star pianist Anton Gerzenberg studied with Pierre-Laurent Aimard, and is a champion of new music and classics, collaborating with the likes of Martha Argerich and Lilya Zilberstein.
This June, Gerzenberg presents a fascinating programme of contrasts on multiple levels. There is the seemingly free-form fantasies (Schubert’s Wanderer and Scriabin’s B minor) compared with the specialised keyboard études or studies (Chopin’s Op. 25 and Unsuk Chin’s 6 Etudes), and their evolution in musical language from the past to the present day.
Programme
- UNSUK CHIN - 6 Etudes
- SCHUBERT – Wanderer Fantasy, D 760
- SCRIABIN – Fantasy in B Minor, Op. 28
- CHOPIN - 12 Etudes, Op. 25
(Programme subject to change at the artist’s discretion)
